How do I send files using Filemail.com ?

| 1. | The e-mail addresses to all the people you wish to send files to (they will recieve a small e-mail with a link to a secure download page). Seperate e-mail addresses with the ; symbol. This field is not required. |
| 2. | Write your own e-mail address to identify yourself to the reciever(s). People tend not to trus e-mails from anonymous users. |
| 3. | Describe the files you are sending, or type in a personal message to the reciever(s). This message will appear in the download e-mail and on the download page. |
| 4. | Click this button to start browsing for files on your local harddrive, select one or more files and then click "ok". |
| 5. | The selected files will appear in this window, details such as file type and file size are displayed. |
| 6. | Click the "Advanced" button to expand the upload panel giving you more options that you may want to change. |
| 7. | This will show you your account type and when it expires. |
| 8. | If you wish to password protect your download page, set a password here. This field is for premium/corporate users only. |
| 9. | You can choose how many times you want the files to be available for downloading. Setting this at a low count will increase security, since the file can not be downloaded more than X times. Remember that the uploaded files are stored in a zip file as well, this file will aslo be available to download for the number of times specified here. |
| 10. | Set the availability of your files by selecting how many days the download will be available. The maximum number of days will be controlled by what account you have. See the membership plan for more details. After the given amount of days, the files are deleted form our servers. |
| 11. | If you check this box, you will recive an e-mail every time someone downloads one of your files. |
| 12. | The files will be zipped togeter in one ZIP archive to make downloading easier. |
| 13. | The files will be encrypted (in real time) as they are being uploaded and stored on our servers. |
| 14. | You will be sent a notification e-mail containing the URL for your download as soon as the upload has completed. |

Why is my upload speed so slow? |
|
Almost all internet 's provide higher download speeds than upload speeds, that's why it takes longer time to upload than download files.

Why can I not send files larger than 2GB?
|

A limitation in asp.net (used serverside), along with a bug in Adobe Flex makes it impossible to send files larger than 2GB at the present time.

Which files can i send? |
|
All files that do not violate our terms of service or the laws of concerned countries. This means that files violating copyrights, or containing pornography, are forbidden and will be removed as soon as we notice. If you see such files on FileMail, we would be glad if you notified us: Simply file an abuse report from the download or contact page. |

If I have a lot of files, should i ZIP them before uploading? |
|
This is not necessary; Filemail ZIPs the files for you after upload is completed. On the other hand; if you have large uncompressed files, you could save time by compressing before uploading.

I have a premuim/corporate account and forgot my password. What should I do?

Click "Login" in the menu and then on the link that says "Forgot your password?" Follow the instructions to reset your password. |
